Detecting Italy 1 | Scrittura Ultraesordiente

Gadda Giovani Class of 2011 went on to produce a delightful story about all stories based on their adventure at the Franco Parenti Threatre, as part of the first National Finals, proving that they do have talent to spare. The results were so good that one had to make a promise and think long-term. The new series Detecting Italy (ETS Pisa) was launched on the opening night of Montecassino 2013, Villa Wolkonsky, Rome, 4 May 2013. In this way our juniors now win and read. Gadda Goes to War | Provocations with DVD

When do we start going to war and why? What did it mean to go to war from WWI to WWII and beyond, in Italy, before and after Mussolini? Such questions are explored in this book through a unique combination of scholarly and theatrical performance based on Gadda’s war diaries and a belated anti-Mussolini pamphlet. These works were adapted for the stage by Fabrizio Gifuni in 2010 (Ubu Prize for Best Actor and Best Show of the Year), and are now presented for the first time in English following the British premiere of the show, Traverse Theatre, as part of Edinburgh International, 20-22 September 2012. No-Where-Next | Exhibition Catalogue

Capitalising on synergies with the Italo-Scottish Research Cluster, as part of Montecassino 2013 we were able to host an exhibition of unpublished photographs of Cassino 1946-1947. Together with the trailer, image galleries and posters, the Scappaticcio exhibition catalogue, which was sponsored by the EGP, captures much of the compelling convergence between the original photo album and the latest Gadda Giovani.
