Patrizia Maschio graduated from Udine University with a thesis on the portrayal of male characters in the novels by Jane Austen and Charlotte and Emily Brontë.
For the last ten years she has been working on the Italian edition of the Lonely Planet guides, thus combining her love for travel, her passion for books and her interest in translation. An avid reader, she has diverse reading tastes ranging from the classics to the latest bestsellers, from historical novels to mysteries, from psychological thrillers to stories on family relationships.
She lives and works in her hometown.
