Antonella Chittaro is full-time secondary school teacher of English language and literature and part-time temporary lecturer of English Language at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, University of Udine, Italy. She has an M.A. in Modern Languages and Literatures, an M.A. in Education and she is a trained secondary school teacher (Udine, Italy). She holds a Ph.D in English Language and Literature (Udine, Italy); her thesis deals with rhetorical strategies and stylistic devices as instruments of political resistance in nineteenth-century antislavery discourse, and focuses on the works of American writer and political activist Lydia Maria Child. Her research interests are race and gender discourses in literary and non-literary texts, critical discourse analysis, multimodality, Information and Communication Technology discourses and cultural studies. She is on the editorial board of the academic refereed online journal Le Simplegadi.
