Sergia Adamo teaches Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Trieste. She was Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Cornell University (2006), Visiting Professor at the Heirich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf (2007-2008) and Alpen-Adria Gastprofessor at the University of Klagenfurt (2010). Her research interests focus on intercultural relations (travel literature, translation history) and on the relationship between literature and other cultural fields (in particular law and literature). Her publications include the volumes Dostoevskij in Italia (1998), Ritratti di una città. Trieste tra scritti di viaggio e immagini retrospettive (2004), Culture planetarie? Prospettive e limiti della teoria e della critica culturale (2007, editor), Between Law and Literature: on Voice and Voicelessness (2007, editor, with C. Bertoni), Judith Butler: violenza e nonviolenza (editor, monographic issue of the journal aut aut, 2009).
