Giulia Totò (PhD Candidate in Italian and Translation Studies; IPSE Member; EJGS Decennial Special Events Team Member) holds a 1st Class MA degree from the University of Bologna, where she specialized in English and Spanish Literature. After graduating, she attended the CETRA International Summer School in Translation Studies held at the S. Pellegrino Institute for Translation and Interpreting in Rimini. Her current research focuses on the translation of stream-of-consciousness novels from English into Italian. Her PhD thesis – principal supervisor Professor Federica G. Pedriali – is entitled: Translating and Retranslating Stream-of-Consciousness: The Case of The Italian Versions of Joyce’s «Ulysses» and «A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man».
Giulia is also a Tutor at the University of Edinburgh. She teaches practical translation from English into Italian and Italian language, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
