Christopher Ferguson left his native Glasgow to study philosophy at Rome’s Gregorian University in 1997. On returning to Scotland, he studied for his MA in Italian at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with 1st Class Honours in 2004.
Christopher is working on a thesis for his PhD in Italian Literature under the supervision of Professor Federica G. Pedriali. He is IPSE Vice-President, EJGS Decennial Special Editorial Assistant, and EJGS Decennial Special Events Team Member.
His main research interest is in Carlo Emilio Gadda, but he also researches literary modernism, postmodernism, mediaeval literature and history and the developments and changes in the genre of detective fiction. He also works as a translator and has recently completed the translation of a novel by a Modenese author.
Christopher teaches translation from Italian to English at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels at the University of Edinburgh. He is also lecturer in Italian at Forth Valley College, Falkirk.
