Gadda Giovani 2011 (Archived)
The Prize in Brief
Our newest award category, Gadda Giovani, takes the Gadda Prize to Italy. The competition is open to secondary schools in six regions Gadda wrote extensively about, and leads to regional semifinals and national finals. Events consist in workshops in creative writing and performance in which hosts work with semifinalists and finalists to a set of tasks based on the theme of the awards –Detecting Italy.
The First National Finals
The 2011 National Finals were hosted at the Franco Parenti Theatre, Milan, 14 November 2011, with the participation of Maria Eugenia D’Aquino, Fabrizio Gifuni, Anna Nogara, Federica Pedriali, Mariella Parravicini and the Gadda Group, Liceo Manzoni, Milan. As part of the event, the 14 finalists treated a full 500-seat house to a workshop based on trailers from their submissions (YouTube video).
