Cristina earned her BA in Foreign European Languages (Hons) from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, with a dissertation on the English translation of Carlo Emilio Gadda’s Quer pasticciaccio brutto de via Merulana. She pursued her Gaddian and translational interests at Edinburgh University, where in 2009 she awarded the MSc in Theory and practice of Translation with distinction, and her final dissertation further developed her previous studies on Gadda’s Pasticciaccio.
In September 2009, Cristina started her PhD under the supervision of Professor Federica G. Pedriali. The focus of her research is the complex cultural relationship underlying Gadda’s translational history and status in the English canon.
Cristina is Member of IPSE, IPSE Web Coordinator, Edinburgh Gadda Prize PR Officer, EJGS Decennial Special Editorial Assistant, and EJGS Decennial Special Events Team Member.
