Crolla Amato Gadda 2012 – Rules
Eligible Works and Timeline
Crolla Amato Gadda Prize. Authors and publishers may enter works on Carlo Emilio Gadda published between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2011. Book-length monographs, commented editions, translations, substantial book chapters and journal articles are eligible. Works in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish are eligible.
Closing date: 31 March 2012
Winners announcement: 30 June 2012
Award ceremony: 22 September 2012
Exclusions
Authors and publishers may enter more than one title per prize, but cannot enter the same work in more than one prize. Members of the Edinburgh Gadda Prize Committee and Panel Judges are excluded from entering the Prize, and so are Previous Winners. Members of the EJGS Editorial Board and of the EJGS Editing Team are not excluded.
Registration
Authors and publishers must send their work by the closing date. Submissions must be sent in the required number of copies to the addresses indicated in the Registration page. By the closing date authors and publishers must also submit the Registration form electronically and pay the registration fee. This can be done either through our secure e-pay system or by cheque.
Registration Fee
A registration fee of £25 (GBP) applies.
Judging Panels
The Panels’ decisions are final and cannot be appealed. The Panels may decide to award special mention status to one or more meritorious entries. They may also decide to award no Prize if they consider that the candidacies presented do not justify its attribution.
Notification
Only prize winners and those who have been awarded a special mention will be notified. This will be done by email and on this webpage.
Award Ceremony Attendance
Prize winners are expected to attend the Award Ceremony.
The Prize
The overall Winner of the Crolla Amato Gadda Prize will receive a diploma, book prizes and a cheque for £500. The Runners-up, i.e., second place and third place, and any Special Mentions will receive a diploma, book prizes and a cheque for £300 (second and third place) and £200 (special mentions). In all cases, the sum is only awarded as a contribution toward travel and accommodation expenses incurred by the Winners to attend the Award Ceremony in Edinburgh. As part of their prize, all categories of Winners, including Special Mentions, will receive complimentary event registrations and tickets. If Winners cannot attend the Award Ceremony, the diploma and the book prizes will be sent by post.
Return Policy
The works submitted will not be returned.
Acceptance of Rules
Submitting the registration form implies unconditional acceptance of these rules.
