Novecento in Saggio
Best Published Scholarly Work on 20thC Italian Fiction
Novecento in Saggio, generously sponsored by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio, Bologna, and by the Italian Department, Bologna University, is awarded for best published scholarly work in Contemporary Italian Literature. Authors and publishers may enter book-length monographs and critical works on one or more 20thC Italian fiction writers published between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2009. Works in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish are eligible.
The Prize
The winner will receive a diploma, a book prize and a cheque for £800. The sum awarded covers travel costs to and from the author’s country of residency and accommodation while in Edinburgh (£400 of the total award). The winner will also receive a complimentary Conference registration and a complimentary banquet ticket for the Prize Award Ceremony. The runner-up and special mentions will receive a diploma, a book prize, a complimentary banquet ticket for the Award Ceremony and a sponsored contribution toward the costs incurred to attend the Ceremony. If winners cannot attend the Award Ceremony the diploma and the book prizes will be sent by post. a2a and Picinisco City Council generously sponsor the runner-up prize and the special mentions for this category. Finmeccanica generously sponsors The Ambassador’s Medal for Distinguished Career. Il centro per il Libro e la Lettura and Garzanti generously sponsor the book prizes.
