Best Early Career Scholarly Work on Gadda
Gadda First, generously sponsored by Politecnico Milan, Udine City Council and Liceo Parini Milan, is the first prize ever to be awarded for best early career scholarly work in Gadda Studies. Authors may enter a first work on Gadda. This must be either a submitted Doctoral Thesis or a published first work with a submission / publication date between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2009. Book-length monographs, commented editions, translations, substantial book chapters and journal articles are eligible. Works in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish are eligible. Authors must be 35 or under by the closing date.
The Prize
The winner will receive a diploma, a book prize and a cheque for £600. The sum awarded covers travel costs to and from the author’s country of residency and accommodation while in Edinburgh (£400 of the total award). The winner will also receive a complimentary Conference registration and a complimentary banquet ticket for the Prize Award Ceremony. The runner-up and special mentions will receive a diploma, a book prize, a complimentary banquet ticket for the Award Ceremony and a sponsored contribution toward the costs incurred to attend the Ceremony. If winners cannot attend the Award Ceremony the diploma and the book prizes will be sent by post. a2a generously sponsors the runner-up prize and the special mentions for this category.
