Ann Landmann
Scottish Gadda Juniors
Panel 4 Judge
Born on the wrong side of The Wall in East Germany in 1982, Ann always wanted to be a writer. Following her mother’s strong suggestion to study a proper subject, she signed up for a degree in Bookselling and Publishing in Leipzig instead. After graduation the lure of the Edinburgh International Book Festival brought her to Scotland’s Capital, and a position with Blackwell, Edinburgh’s oldest bookshop. After running the Schools Department for three years, Ann is now working behind the scenes as the shops Event Co-ordinator. Her reading tastes are diverse, ranging from Gaiman to Goethe, and faced with the old «Which book would you take to a desert island?» question she would answer «an e-book with solar cells and Internet access».
