Joanne Cockburn

After leaving school Joanne Cockburn spent one year working as a tour guide in Italy. She then moved to France and spent ten years there, much of which working as a programme administrator in UNESCO Paris office before settling in London. Joanne returned to Edinburgh and studied French and Italian to MA Hons at University of Edinburgh as a mature student, then PGCE (Modern Languages) at Moray House Institute. Whilst working full time as Division Administrator of European Languages and Cultures, she obtained the Diploma in Translation Studies also at Edinburgh University. She is currently still employed in the University and is a free-lance translator in the spare time.
