Alberto Godioli is a Teaching Fellow in Italian at Edinburgh University, where he arrived in 2013 as a Newton International Fellow. He studied at the University of Pisa and at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, where he obtained his PhD in 2012. His publications include «La scemenza del mondo». Riso e romanzo nel primo Gadda (Pisa: ETS, 2011; Overall Winner of the 2012 edition of Gadda First), and a forthcoming monograph on laughter in Italian Modernism (Pirandello, Svevo, Palazzeschi, and Gadda). He is on the editorial board of The Edinburgh Journal of Gadda Studies and of the Enciclopedia Gaddiana.
