A strong submission all round
We are extremely pleased with the quality and size of the submission to the first edition of the Edinburgh Gadda Prize (2010).
We received sixty-one entries in the scholarly categories and over one hundred entries in Best Junior Detective Fiction.
This result is particularly encouraging as we had just ten weeks between the start of the publicity campaign, in early February, and the extended closing date of 15 April.
Our thanks
Our thanks go to all those who made the first edition of the Prize a success – the many Sponsors, the growing numbers of Friends, the hard-worked Panel Judges and Prize Committee Members, the voluntary helpers in droves, and, of course, the real protagonists of the initiative, the many senior and early career scholars and those talented Edinburgh boys and girls who entered their work.
