Closing dates. 31 May 2012 (stage 1), 1 August 2012 (stage 2).
Competition type. Creative Writing (stage 1) and Other Media (stage 2).
Eligibility. Secondary schools (S4, S5, S6) in Edinburgh and Glasgow; Edinburgh University students (Year 1).
Submission 1. Entries must be no more than 2,000 words long and detect-discover-explore Italy through the setting.
Submission 2. Open to Finalists only. Submissions can consist in one of the following: photo porfolio (max 5 photos), film (max 3 mins), 1 event poster, 1 book cover illustration, 1 installation (submitted through photo portfolio, max 5 photos, or film, max 3 mins).
Language. English.
Results. 10 June 2012 (stage 1), 20 August 2012 (stage 2).
Events. Semifinalists Workshop (June 2012), Winners Labs and International Juniors (20-22 September 2012).
Ceremony. Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, 22 September 2012.
Prize. Diploma, book prizes, participation to training labs (all semifinalists); diploma, book prizes, participation to further training labs and resulting exhibition-performance (all winners); travel bursary (£500) to attend Montecassino 2013 (overall winner and runner-up).
