Seven Connected Platforms

Seven interconnected events make up Montecassino 2013. These platforms – junior mobility, recital, installations, book launches, public debates, international conference and junior awards – capitalise on the synergies between our junior and scholarly projects, Detecting Italy and No-Where-Next | War-Diaspora-Origin.

Further intersections will come as part of the junior awards, following a recital by Nicola Benedetti and Alexei Grynyuk and an exhibition of Dominic Scappaticcio’s photographs of Cassino and Montecassino 1946-1947 among readings from Gadda by Fabrizio Gifuni and installations of the work by our junior finalists.

This will also be the occasion for the official presentation of the new research centre on Italian migration based at Edinburgh University The Italo-Scottish Research Cluster – and the launch of the new publication series resulting from the Gadda Prize, Detecting Italy. La narrativa ultraesordiente del Gadda Giovani (ETS Pisa). For the full Montecassino Programme click here.

Montecassino 2013 is a true site of convergence in homage to the spirit of Cassino and Montecassino: concept, team of people, event package and token to take away in the knowledge that the gap between the nowhere next of history and the next generation can only be filled by our work with and for others.
